He was predeceased by: his former wife Patricia; his parent Margaret; and his brothers, Buddy, Carl and Donald.

He is survived by: his wife Mary; his children, Kathy, Eric (Lisa) and Karen; his stepchildren, Daniel (Clorissa), Carl and Amber (Rob); and his sisters, Margaret "Peggy" Parette (Nick), Jean Dennen (Richard) and Joan Powlus (Harry). He is also survived by his 17 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and a countless number of friends.
