He was predeceased by: his sister Patricia DeLay; and his parents, John F. DeLay Sr. and Isma DeLay. He is survived by: his wife Janice Backus DeLay; his son John B. DeLay; his grandchildren, Brendan and Charlotte; and his siblings, William DeLay of David DeLay and Ruth Lizardi.
