He was predeceased by: his parents, Teofil Kowalewski and Sophia Bernoski Kowalewski; and his brother Ralph. He is survived by: his sons, David (Shelley), Lake Winola and Joseph (Diane); his brothers, Richard of Hallstead and Tony of Maryland; and his grandchildren, Justin, Tiffany Kowalewski and Nicole Schiffer.

In lieu of flowers memorial may be made to the Griffin Pond Animal Shelter, 967 Griffin Pond Rd., Clarks Summit, PA 18411, St. Joseph's Center, 1213 Prospect Ave., Scranton, PA 18508, or the donor's favorite charity.
