He was predeceased by: his parents, Eugene J. Keenen and Veronica Miller Keenen; his sister Elizabeth Ann Shafer; and his daughter-in-law Barbara Keenen. He is survived by: his wife Rose Rupprecht; his children, Dave Keenen of Shippenville, Barb Keenen of Georgia, Peggy Corp (Jay) and Pat Keenen (Erynn) of Texas; his grandchildren, Rachel, Rick, Abbie, James, Kaila, Kelli, Eddie, Nathan, Sean and Hadley; his great grandchildren, Andrew, Logan, Olivia, Eliza and Nicholas; and his sister Joan LeGrys of Saint Mary's.
