He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Franklin McLaine and Mary Blanche DeVilder McLaine; his wife Mary; and his siblings, Helen McLaine, Willard McCleary Reed, Elsie Kiser, Nancy Younkers, Margaret McClaine, John Ray McLaine and William Howard McLaine.
He is survived by: his sons, Jerry McLaine (Marlene) and Rodney McLaine (Anita); his grandchildren, Samuel (Ashley McLaine), Jolie McLaine and Dale McLaine; his stepgrandson Tim Harkness; his great grandchildren, Kaylee McLaine, Evan McLaine, Justin Harkness and Jerred Harkness; and his sister-in-law Donna Beckwith.
