He was predeceased by: his parents, William Edward Hager and Elizabeth Barelli Hager; his son James "Jim" Edward Hager, Jr.; and his brother Donald "Don" Hager. He is survived by: his spouse Shirley Lee Cook; his son William Edward Hager, III (Diana) of Hawthorn; his granddaughter Stephanie R. Hager (Steve Arose) of Chevy Chase, Maryland; his son Luke E. Hager; his great grandchild William McKee Hager of Los Angeles; his sister Dolores Hager Boyer of Apollo; his niece Liz Boyer; his nephews, Donnie Hager, John Hager and Jake Hager; and his pet Louie.
