He was predeceased by: his parents, Leroy Swartzlander and Lucille DeArment Swartzlander Staley (Jack Staley, Sr.) of Clarion; and his brother Jack Staley, Jr.. He is survived by: his wife Tonya Rhoades; his daughters, Amanda Giehll (Matt) of Virginia and Tara Carroll (Matt) of Butler; his grandchildren, Jackson of Virginia, Elijah of Virginia, Leo Giehll of Virginia and Amelia Carroll of Butler; and his siblings, Linda Bauer (Steve) of Tennessee, Beverly Cassone of Tennessee, Terry Swartzlander (Sharon) of North Carolina, Julie Novak (Tony) of North Carolina, John Swartzlander (Lynn) of Virginia, Kandi Tharp (Danny) of Clarion, Rona Lou Schake (Mel) of Indiana, PA and Rick Staley (Cindy) of Clarion. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, Memorials or donations can be made in Charles' name to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society or to the Clarion or Venango County Humane Society.
