He was predeceased by: his parents, William Cecil and Ila Jane Ion Stitt; and his siblings, Charlotte Clarke, Mabel Cunningham, Maxine Barr, Louise Miller and Earl Stitt.
He is survived by: his daughters, Carla Taymans (Andrew) of Vermont, Valerie Stitt of Clarion and Gretchen Hess (Jay Fowler) of Maryland; his grandchildren, Katie Taymans (John Ascarino) of Massachusetts, Jackson Taymans of Vermont and Abigail Hess of Maryland; his great grandchildren, Lyra Petto and Elsie Ascarino of Massachusetts; and his brother William Stitt of Butler. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
