He was predeceased by: his parents, Merle Franklin Smith, Sr. and Estella "Cozie" Ambrose Smith; and his wife Doris Louise Blair. He is survived by: his sons, Walter E. Smith (Linda) and Daniel J. Smith (Heidi); his grandchildren, Bradley E. Smith (Jamie), Abbey Smith Lockwood and Jonathan F. Smith (Felicity Kriebel); and his great grandchildren, Jordyn L. Smith, Declan E. Lockwood and Liam J. Smith.
