Joseph D. Collar Obituary
Joseph D. "Joe" Collar, 59, of Clarence, passed away on Saturday, March 9, 2024, at the Geisinger Medical Center in Danville. Born on January 19, 1965, in Bellefonte, he was the son of the late Frank and Alice (Collar) Lucas.
Joe was a 1983 graduate of Bald Eagles Area High School. He worked as a general contractor for local companies, the last being with his brother, Doug. Joe could no longer work after being diagnosed with leukemia five years ago.
Joe was an outgoing person. He liked to socialize with family and friends. He was a member of the Clarence Moose Club and the Young Democratic Club in Clarence. He enjoyed tinkering around his house, fishing, and going for car rides through the mountains. He adored his grandson.
Joe is survived by his daughter, Jodi D. Collar of Bellefonte, and one grandson, Tyler A. Nichols. He is also survived by his brother, Douglas Collar and his wife, Nanette, of Snow Shoe; three sisters: Elaine Bratton of Chester Hill, Kathy Maines and her husband, Ronald, of Philipsburg, and Fran Walker and her husband, David, of Pine Glen.
There will be a public viewing on Monday, March 18, 2024, from 6-8pm at the Daughenbaugh Funeral Home in Snow Shoe. The burial will be private at Askey Cemetery.
The family has strongly requested no flowers. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial contributions to the Daughenbaugh Funeral Home, Inc, 106 W. Sycamore St. Snow Shoe, PA 16874 to help with funeral expenses.
