It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Virginia Pekala of Clairton, Pennsylvania, born in Munhall, Pennsylvania, who passed away on September 5, 2021, at the age of 100, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Louis Perich and Anna Perich (Tomas); her husband Elmer J. Pekala; and her siblings, Mary Matesic, Mildred Dobrick, Olga Kensky, John and Anthony Perich.

She is survived by: her children, David Pekala (Linda) of Parker, CO, Eric Pekala (Debi) of Elizabeth and Maureen Tackett (Tim) of Pittsburgh; her grandchildren, Matthew Pekala (Stephanie) of Marlton, NJ, Megan Lindsey (Timothy) of Highlands Ranch, CO, Brian Tackett (Jenni Simek) of Kenmore, NY, Lauren Tackett (Nate Haynes) of Lexington, KY, Tara Pekala (Salvatore Stojakovich) of Clairton and Macy Pekala (Shawn Miller) of Pittsburgh; her great grandchildren, Jude Pekala, Jackson Lindsey and Makiya Miller; her nieces, Sandy Sivak, Paula Kensky and Marlene Koshar; and her nephew George Dobrick.

At the request of the family, all visitors are asked to wear a mask regardless of vaccination status.
