He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Barbara Hammett Irwin; his former wife Elizabeth Symonds Irwin; his children, Lauren Irwin (Robert Bugbee) of New York, NY, Lisa Irwin (Graham Burgess) of London and England; and his grandchildren, Olivia, William, Sophie, Charlotte and Georgia.
