She was predeceased by: her parents, Ernest P. Umstead and Florence Claypoole Umstead; her husband Daniel O. Surrena; her siblings, R. Aileene, Jack Hetrick, Mary Belle and Charles Ace; and her brother-in-law Robert Slater.
She is survived by: her children, Debbie L. Steele (Rick) of Chicora, Denise M. Young (Walter) of Chicora and David W. Surrena (Sue) of Chicora; her grandchildren, R. Bruce Steele (Jessica), Serina Steele-Haller, Rebecca Ostrzeniec (Mark), Joshua Young (Jessica), Heather West (Patrick), Sarah Roudebush (Kyle), Megan Wiley (Jon) and Dillan Surrena (Autumn); and her sisters, Janet Slater of Chicora and Alice Hetrick (Charles) of Chicora. She is also survived by 12 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
