He was predeceased by: his parents, William L. Clingensmith and Vera Ritzert Clingensmith; and his sister Linda S. Clingensmith. He is survived by: his wife Roxanne E. Aggers Clingensmith; his sons, William David Clingensmith of Enfield, CT and Charles Frederick Clingensmith (Jennifer) of Chicora; his grandchildren, David C., Ethan I., Oliver N., Taylor A., Greyson and Landon; his sisters, Barbara A. McElravy (Greg) of Chicora and Teresa Veith (Michael) of Butler; and his brother-in-law Kevin Daily of Crafton. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
