He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Kenton Yost and Nancy Mailey Yost; his wife Rita Ann Yost (Heiry); his sons, Ryan Heastings of Dublin, Ross Heastings of Edgewood and Matthew Yost of Greensburg; his grandson Rye Steward-Heastings of Dublin, Ohio; and his brother Gary Yost (Jennifer) of Bethel Park. He was also cherished by nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Hillman Cancer Center or The American Cancer Society.
