Rita Schorn wrote a sympathy message

“I met Steve through the BVSPCA, years ago and since then we have remained good friends. Always a kind word. Always a quick hug and hello when he would stop by the shelter. He had a great love of the work we do and always asked, "what more can I do, how can I help". It is not every day that you meet a man like Steve. My deepest sympathy to the family. You will be in my thoughts and prayers as you cope with the loss of a wonderful human being!”
