He was predeceased by: his parents, Julius Anderson and Evelyn Anderson; his wife Emma Jane; his son Danny; and his siblings, James and Nevada Birder.

He is survived by: his daughter Nancy Tomazin (Mark) of Daisytown; his grandson Mark Shaffer of Belle Vernon; and his sisters-in-law, Ruth Dodds of Kitanning and Patty Thorne of Charleroi.
