She was predeceased by: her parents, Chester Vess and Katie Peters Vess; her husband Ronald Black; and her siblings, Glenn, Lacy, Catherine, Nelson, Muriel (Myrle) and Marshall.
She is survived by: her sons, Blane (Kim) of Washington and Greg (Sherry) of Carroll Township; her grandchildren, Shannon Ledwich (Ron), Megan Black (Lonnie Rudnisky), Kellyn Epping (Chris), Matthew Black, Joseph Black, Hannah Patton (Nathaniel) and Laura Castaneda; her great grandchild Elouise Bernece Epping; and her siblings-in-law, Randy Black (Kathy), Richard Jones, Carole Black and Marlene Black. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to the local Meals on Wheels program or the Charleroi Baptist Church in Viola's honor.
