He was predeceased by: his parents, John Carlson and Helen Carlson (Anderson); and his siblings, Lorraine Wendel, Frances Anderson, Kenneth Carlson and John Carlson.

He is survived by: his wife Dolores Carlson; his daughters, Sheila Fear (Chuck), Karen Pullion (Shawn) and Nancy Lundy (Jim); his grandchildren, Amanda Fear, Kelsey Pullion (Tim Lucas), Taylor Wolfe (Andy) and Jimmy Lundy (Calista); his nephew Andrew Wolfe; and his nieces, Charlotte Wolfe and Audrey Lucas.
