He is survived by: his children, Robert Murphy, Jr. (Donna), Patricia Novac (Donald), Donald "Mike" Murphy, Erinn Obeldobel (Joseph), Todd Murphy (Christine), Brett Novac (Ginger), Leah Roberts and Maura Wilson (Brian); and his great grandchildren, Alex, Corey, Justin, Kelcie, April, Kellan and Lula.

Memorial donations may be made in his name to the Wounded Warrior Project.
