He was predeceased by: his parents, Richard McElwee and Mary McElwee (Smethers); his siblings, Richard, Mary Louise Hartman and Patricia Russo; and his grandson Jacob Pulaski.
He is survived by: his wife Gloria Brown of Chambersburg, PA; his children, Brenda Pulaski (Joseph) of Harrisburg, PA and Rev. David McElwee (Samantha) of Clearfield, PA; and his grandchildren, Joseph, Nathan Pulaski, Abigail and Andrew McElwee. He is also survived by numerous nephews and nieces.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Park Avenue United Methodist Church in Chambersburg, or the Student Retention Fund at Lycoming College.
