He was predeceased by: his parents, Wesley E. "Gene" Cowan and Violet Price Cowan; and his grandson Kirkland Cowan. He is survived by: his wife Wendy S. Martin Cowan; his children, Amy Brown (Christopher) of Chambersburg, Carrie Strite of Chambersburg and Richaela Denlinger (Dylan) of Chambersburg; his grandchildren, Taylor Brown, Ian Brown and Hannah Meyers (Tristan); and his great grandchild River Meyers.
