He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence Burkholder and Grace Burkholder (Flohr); and his brothers, Roy Burkholder and Gary Burkholder. He is survived by: his wife Margaret Burkholder (Watson); his children, Susan Stuff (Marshall), Sherry Culler and Shelly Shoemaker (Ed); his grandchildren, Joshua, Samantha, Adam, Sarah, Austin, Benjamin and Matthew; his sister Karen Sloan; and his sisters-in-law, Barbara Burkholder and Dorothy Ocker (Chester). He is also survived by 10 great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Friday, November 8th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Saturday, November 9th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the Crider's United Brethren Church (2380 Loudon Rd, Chambersburg, PA 17202). A funeral service was held on Saturday, November 9th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Melvin's name may be made to Crider's United Brethren Church or to the Mt. Parnell Lions Club, 7398 Hawk Road, Mercersburg.
