He was predeceased by: his parents, John W., Sr. and Cleone Ebersole (Bingaman); his siblings, Doris Jean Ebersole and Wayne Ebersole; his brother-in-law James "Buck" Timmons; his niece Sherry Rhodes; and his grandson Terry A. Ebersole, II.

He is survived by: his close friend Sara Kitzmiller; his sons, Terry Ebersole (Tammy), Tracy Ebersole (Christina), John Ebersole (JW) and Joshua Ebersole (Megan); his grandchildren, Christopher, Amy, Trenton, Dalton, Landon, Kaitlyn and Amber; his great grandchildren, Micalee, Riley, Autumn, Adelyn and Bryson; his son Justin Kitzmiller; his siblings, Shirley Timmons, Terry Ebersole, Darrell Ebersole and Bonnie Crabtree (Larry); and also, Jeff Kitzmiller (Gina), Shelia Pilgrim (Tom, Jr.), Lindsay Pittman, Kelby Kitzmiller (Kaitlyn), Gage Pilgrim (Elissa), Vamarion, Viondre Hawkins, Marlique Norah, Kenton Kitzmiller, Walker Pilgrim and Kohyn Kitzmiller.
