He was predeceased by: his parents, Noah B. Wadel and Lydia Marie Horst Wadel; his stepmother Mary Ebersole Wadel; and his siblings, Luke Wadel, Noah Wadel, Jr. and Emily Rose Wadel.

He is survived by: his wife Connie K. Neil Wadel; his children, Edwin J. Wadel (Shawna), Mona L Buchanan (Kevin) and Mary E. Horst (Brent); his grandchildren, Debbie, Karina, Faith, Hope, Grant, Kyle, Joel, Wade and Keenan; his great grandchildren, Emmett, Liam, Caleb, Rhett, Vera, Vivian and Lacey; and his siblings, Daniel Wadel (Esther Mae), James Wadel (Ellen), Robert Wadel (Brenda), Esther Showalter (Lester), Eunice Lehman and Martha Horst (Isaac). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
