He was predeceased by: his parents, Monroe Byers and Mary Byers (Wingert); his wife Linda J. Byers; his son Gary Byers; and his sister Fannie Slick (John).
He is survived by: his children, Jeffrey Byers and Judith Benner (Daniel); his daughters-in-law, Mary Byers and Jaqueline Newell (Gary); and his sister Joan Rutt (Galen). He is also survived by seven grandchildren.
