It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Elizabeth C. Maffett in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania, born in Lewistown, Pennsylvania, who passed away on January 4, 2023, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, William Schwinger and Cathryn Schwinger; her husband Richard F. Maffett, Sr.; and her brother William Schwinger. She is survived by: her sons, Richard F. Maffett, Jr. (Barbara) and Mechanicsburg; her grandchildren, Richard Ivor (Nicole), Timothy (Lydia), Andrew (Beth), Alex (Brielle), Alexis and Payton; her sister Maryanne Zahn; and her brother-in-law Donald Heimbaugh. She is also survived by four great grandchildren.

“I miss Liz, the "Grandma Liz" to our kids, our neighbor who welcomed us warmly to our neighborhood when we had just moved. She would always say she was happy to have us as her neighbors. She always wore a beautiful smile, with her eyes looking tenderly at us. She would always have a very encouraging word. We made sure to put up our outdoor Christmas decorations as she had expressed she enjoyed looking at them at night. Her faith in God gives me the assurance where she is now. We love you, Liz!”
