He was predeceased by: his parents, Edgar H. Burkholder and Hannah Martin Burkholder; his siblings, Martin, Jacob, Mary Martin, Emma Eby, Irvin, Earl, Fannie Diller and Paul; his daughter-in-law Rosanna Burkholder (Isaac); and his grandson Andrew Burkholder.

He is survived by: his wife A. Grace Burkholder; his children, Isaac, Mark (Joyce) of Chambersburg, Royce (Sara) of Lititz, Dorcas Preheim (Arlan), Carl Edgar (Nancy) of Lancaster and Miriam Burkholder (Erik Nyquist) of San Antonio, TX.; his grandchildren, Nathaniel, Stephen, Curtis Burkholder, Jonathan Preheim, Anita Zeiset, Katie Nolt, Julie Sensenig and Janel Preheim; his great grandchildren, Annika, Kiara, Josiah, Kayliana Burkholder, Ariana, Derek, Kayla, Olivia, Sophia Zeiset, Caleb and Micah Sensenig; and his siblings, Ruth Burkholder Diller of Greencastle and Chester of Hagerstown, MD..
