He was predeceased by: his parents, William Alwine and Mathilde Alwine (Reck). He is survived by: his wife Nancy (Rommel); his children, Susan Ehnot (David), Scott, Amy Bouffard (Dave), Keith, Chris (Jeanette) and Jon (Amanda); and his sister Carolyn Jackson (Tom). He is also survived by 12 grandchildren, niece and three nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Bill's memory can be made to the Abramson Cancer Center at the University of Pennsylvania.
