He was predeceased by: his parents, Doctor Robert J. and Carrie Mae Wherry (Blair); his wife Barbara Lee Wherry (Jones); his son Richard Kent Wherry; and his siblings, Gloria Kinnaird, Carrie Waters and John Wherry.
He is survived by: his children, Robert James Wherry, III (Helene) of Hudson, NH, Stephen Paul Wherry (Gina) of Doylestown, Mary-Beth Peddell (Michael) of Fleet, England and Barbara Lee Skog (Mark) of Springfield, VA; his grandchildren, Sarah Bendyna (James), Nick Mosquera, Grace, Faith Wherry, Marisa, Jason Wherry, Sophie, Giorgia Peddell, Emma and Alex Skog; and his sisters-in-law, Janice Carr (Jones) and Pat Wherry. He is also survived by cousins, nephews.
Visitation was held on Sunday, November 3rd 2024 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at the Lenape Valley Presbyterian Church (321 W Butler Ave, New Britain, PA 18901). A celebration of life was held on Sunday, November 3rd 2024 at 11:30 AM at the Lenape Valley Church (321 W Butler Ave, New Britain, PA 18901).
He also served as the reviewing editor on his father's book, Contributions to Correlational Analysis.
