He was predeceased by: his parents, Lawrence E. Hilferty and Miriam T. McHale Hilferty; his daughter Anne Hilferty; and his siblings, Br. Lawrence J. Hilferty and Nancy Krause.

He is survived by: his wife Alicia Ortiz Hilferty; his daughters, Victoria Swope (Derik) of Newtown, Veronica Hilferty of Glenside and Christina Hilferty of Chalfont; his grandson Kent Swope; and his brothers, Michael F. (Cindi), Daniel E. (Mary Beth), Kevin M. and Thomas P. Hilferty (Marce). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to the American Heart Association, 1617 John F. Kennedy Boulevard, Suite 700, Philadelphia, PA 19103.
