She was predeceased by: her parents, Shigeru Shimaura and Mie Shimaura. She is survived by: her husband Stephen Bowers; her daughters, Alyssa Bowers and Sarah Hensley; and her sister Ellen Matsuda. She is also survived by three grandchildren.
