He is survived by: his wife Diana McCarthy; and his stepdaughters, Jeanne McCarthy of Media, Julie McCarthy of Croton and Kelly McCarthy of Henderson.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Beaver Valley Conservancy Fund at the Delaware Community Foun-dation, 100 West 10th St., Wilmington, Delaware 19801.
