Evelyn Fay Heaton Obituary
Evelyn Fay Heaton, 92, of Chadds Ford, passed away on Friday, October 22, 2021 at Chester County Hospital, West Chester, PA.
Fay was the wife of the late Joseph William Heaton, with whom she shared 26 years of marriage before he passed away in 1979.
Born on January 1, 1929 in Bolsover, UK, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Evelyn Barnett. Growing up an only child, Fay knew she wanted to have a big family someday, and it's fair to say she got her wish. Fay spent her entire adult life in a home filled with children, pets, and commotion, and she wouldn't have wanted it any other way.
Fay was beloved by just about everyone who met her, but especially her family and friends. She was known to all as kind, generous, soft-spoken, and warm. Many would describe her as the sweetest woman they ever met. But those closest to Fay know she was much more than that. She was adventurous – whether moving halfway across the world or learning to drive in her late 30's – and deceptively tough, enduring every challenge life gave her. She loved to bake her family's favorites. She was funny, always up for a laugh, and her smile could light up a room. She will be dearly missed by all those who know and love her.
Fay is survived by her six children: Janet Ranker, Beryl Heaton, Ann (Michael) Sestrich, Wendy (Eric) Adams, Barry Heaton and Neill Heaton; her grandchildren: Kristie (Mike) Tomes, Domanic Ranker, Brian (Meridith) Sestrich, Lauren (Nick) Byrne, Kevin Heaton, Jesse (Kristen) Adams, Alicia (Matt) Darnall, and the late Russell Spackman Jr. and Rebecca Spackman; and her great-grandchildren: Alexis and Nathan Tomes, Addikiss and Chase Heaton, and Thomas and Theodore Sestrich.
A private celebration of life service will be held at a later date.
