He was predeceased by: his parents, Ralph B. Confer and Bertha E. Confer (Shirk); and his sister Deborah Confer-Fry. He is survived by: his wife Darlene L. Wolfe; his sons, Ian Confer (Michelle) of Richmond, VA and Bryce Confer (Misty) of East Salem; his grandchildren, Jackson, Sloane, Chase and Kinley; and his mother-in-law Joyce L. Wolfe of Centre Hall. He is also survived by siblings that he referred to as his own siblings; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
