She was predeceased by: her parents, Leroy Lightner and Pauline Rupert Lightner. She is survived by: her husband Donald R. Mayes; her daughter Patti Mayes (Chris Hall) of Bellefonte; her stepchildren, Ronald L. Mayes, Sr. (Deborah) of State College, Linda L. Daley (Jeff) of Costa Mesa, CA and Patty Parson of State College; and her siblings, William Lightner (Regina) of Petersburg, Carey Lightner (Wanda) of Petersburg, Naomi Brumbaugh (Melvin) of McConnelstown, Freda Burkey (Clyde) of Petersburg and Peggy Parsons (Ralph) of Petersburg. She is also survived by seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
