He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Olmstead and Dorothy Vangel Olmstead; his wife Tina M. Kuberry; and his siblings, Rick Olmstead and Gloria Olmstead.

He is survived by: his children, Richard Rodgers (Melissa) of Pleasantville, Nicholas Olmstead of Centerville and Jade Olmstead (Travis Christley) of Slippery Rock; and his siblings, David "Bud" Olmstead (Sue) of Union City, Robert Olmstead (Judy) of Louisburg, NC and Linda Sturrock (Gary) of Corry. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
