He was predeceased by: his parents, John Joseph Papotnik and Betty Mae Bickerstaff Papotnik; his great grandchild Walker Rogers; and his brother Francis Papotnik. He is survived by: his wife Dianna Kaster of Centerville; his children, Gina Thomas (Norm) of Centerville, Brenda Rogers (Steve) of Union City, Tammy Nugen of Tucson, AZ, Ginger Sabot (Dennis) of Pittsburgh, Sheila Roberson (Jimmy) of Centerville and John Robert "Rob" Papotnik of Lincolnville; his grandchildren, Jamey, Hailey Sabot of Pittsburgh, Mark Rogers (Chelsie) of Union City and Colton Nugen of Tucson, AZ; his great grandchildren, Warren Keyes and Weston Rogers; his brother Larry Papotnik (Linda) of Mount Crawford, VA; and his sister-in-law Francine Papotnik of Union City. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

The family asks that memorials be made to the Bloomfield Township Volunteer Fire Department.
