It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of James Russell Daivs Sr. of Center Township, Pennsylvania, born in Sarver, Pennsylvania, who passed away on September 1, 2023, at the age of 103, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Harlan Davis and Helen Davis (Fair); his wife Maxine Schaffner Davis; his son Richard L. "Dick" Davis; his grandson Jeffrey R. Davis; and his sisters, Audene Weleski and Dorothy Kontos.
He is survived by: his daughters, Jacqueline Hamilton (Michael) of Rowe, N. M., Carla Hunt (Charles) of Davis, CA. and Paula Grubbs (Bill Dunnigan) of Penn Township; his grandson James R. "Rip" Davis Jr. (Carol Wojdylak) of Butler Township; and his daughter-in-law Jeannine Davis of Wadsworth, Ohio. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
