He was predeceased by: his wife Pauline Genes (Varega); his parents, Benjamin Genes and Theresa Genes (Palovich); and his sister Stephanie Khuze. He is survived by: his children, Paulette Genes-Rihely (Stephen), Benjamin Genes (Dawn) and Blaise Genes (Terri); his grandchildren, Rebecca Deoras (Akshay), Jacob Genes (Christina), Anna Genes and Claire Genes; his great grandchildren, Emma Grace and Jack Robert; and his sisters, Joan Kavinsky and Cecelia Moran. He is also survived by nieces and nephews, and many friends.
He was a faithful servant to the Lord; he attended Mass every Sunday until the pandemic forced him to use his iPad to view Mass from home.
