He was predeceased by: his parents, David Leighow and Sarah Leighow (Levan). He is survived by: his wife Mary K. Brecht of Northumberland; his daughters, Sally Leighow (Brian Kile), Suann Leighow, Suzet Martin (William) and Sonya Leighow (Debbie Hults) of Catawissa; his grandchildren, Sabrina Vought (Mike Kelchner) of Danville, Wyatt of Catawissa, Sarah of Catawissa and Weston Martin of Catawissa; and his great grandchild Shelby Paige Kelchner of Danville.
