He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Helen Knopf and Achatz; his stepfather Stephen Knopf; his wife Judy (Umstead); his children, Jen Garland (Pete), Steve Whitby (Tami) and David Whitby (Colleen); and his grandchildren, Ben (Ali), Katie, Jon, Abby, Meghan, Talia, Wren and Elliott.
