It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Maria Baldacchino of Carrolltown, Pennsylvania, who passed away on October 5, 2023, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Paolo Francesco and Guiseppina Scala (Lupo); her former husband Salvatore Scala; her husband James E. Baldacchino; her son Corrado "Charlie" Scala; her siblings, Gaetana Campisi (Gaetano), Sebastiana Scala (Corrado), Vincenzo Scala and Corradina Cernigliaro (Guiseppe); her nephews, Frank Cernigliaro, Salvatore Scala, Philip Baldacchino, Vincent Baldacchino and Joseph Mezzelo; her great-nephew Guiseppe Cernigliaro; her parents-in-law, Guiseppe and Dina Baldacchino (Guarnieri); and her siblings-in-law, Dr. Joseph F. Baldacchino (Sarah), Dr. Philip Baldacchino (Margie), Anthony Baldacchino, Cettina Scala and Josephine Mezzelo (Baldacchino).
She is survived by: her daughters, Salvatrice Kelly (Mark), Dina J. Micco (Gary), Marialena Hervert (Frank), Francesca Mavridis (Savas) and Corradina "Corry" Baldacchino-Harker (Ian) of Cypress, TX; her grandchildren, Mark Kelly Jr. (Emily), Madeleine Kelly-Midler (Chase), Gabriel Corrado Kelly, Vincenzo Micco, Domenico Micco, Isabella Hervert, Gabriella Hervert, Angelina Mavridis, Natalia Mavridis, Sofia Mavridis, Giada Harker and Luca Harker; her great grandchild Finn Roman Midler; her brothers, Gaetano Scala (Teresa) and Sebastiano Scala; her sisters-in-law, Turina Scala and Mary Lou Baldacchino (Columbus); and her caregivers, Amy, Aubri, Christina, Marie, Kayla, Martha, Sherri, Stephanie, Susie and Tina.
