He was predeceased by: his parents, Ellen Sams and Virgil Sams; and his sister Jessie May Sams. He is survived by: his significant other Maureen Sams; his children, Leyland Sams (Alexandra Hamilton) and Pierce Sams; and his siblings-in-law, Christine Muzik (David), Daniel Michalski (Colleen), Theodore Michalski Jr. and James Michalski (Kristen). He is also survived by his four nieces, three nephews and one great-niece.
