He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Miriam H. Steitz; his parents, George Steitz and Rose Steitz; and his children, Mary Sargent, Hardie Steitz, David P. Steitz (Kathy) and Jane B. Steitz Banaszak (Jeffrey). He was also cherished by 11 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
