He was predeceased by: his parents, Florian and Mary J. Balas (Kovach). He is survived by: his sons, Robert "Bobby" Balas and Chris Balas (Michael Onesko) of Penncraft; and his siblings, Jo Ann Dorgan (N. J.) of Long Branch, Paul Balas, Francis "Junior" Balas, Edward Balas, Elaine Kloc and Elizabeth Bartock. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
