He was predeceased by: his parents, George B. Gapen and Virginia Gapen (Lardin); and his wife Mary. He is survived by: his children, Tammy J. Hulderman of Naples, Fla., Eric L. Gapen of Waynesburg, Mark C. Gapen (Heather) of Severn, Tracy J. Eye (Joshua) of Morgantown, Matthew R. Gapen (Brigitte) of Fairmont and W. Va; his grandchildren, Katherine, David, Samuel, Dina, Miriam, Liam, Atticus and Julien; his cousins, Matt, Danny and Harley; and his friend Ray Mallory.
Visitation was held on Friday, September 20th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Yoskovich Funeral Home (300 S Vine St, Carmichaels, PA 15320). A funeral service was held on Saturday, September 21st 2024 at 10:00 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Saturday, September 21st 2024 at the Monongahela Hill Cemetery (100 Sr2014, Greensboro, PA 15338).
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Mapletown United Methodist Church.
