She was predeceased by: her parents, Russell H. Mell and Helen Rebecca Mell (Piper); and her brothers, Ray and Ron Mell. She is survived by: her husband George Thompson of Carlisle; and her children, Joseph Thompson (Kristin) of Boiling Springs, Megan Evansky (Tom) of Pittsburgh and Patrick Thompson of Aspers.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 225 N Michigan Ave, Floor 17, Chicago, IL 60601.
