He was predeceased by: his parents, John Schaffer and Barbara Schaffer (Kunz). He is survived by: his siblings, John and Barbara Thomas; his wife Catherine Elizabeth Schaffer; his children, John J. Schaffer (Claire) of Mechanicsburg and Susan Schaffer Fromkin of Buffalo Grove, Illinois; his granddaughters, Jennifer Schaffer Leone (Timothy), Shana Fromkin Sexton (Paul), Rebecca Schaffer Olinger (Christopher) and Lauren Fromkin Artzi (Nir); his great grandchildren, Nicholas Anthony Leone, Kyle Martin Olinger, Eitan Martin Artzi, Colin Nestor Olinger, Caleb Johnathan Sexton, Meirav Elizabeth Artzi and Anthony Joseph Leone; and his brother Peter of Sterling, Virginia..

They ask that in lieu of flowers, you consider a donation to the facility.
