He was predeceased by: his parents, George Leroy and Florence Grace Zimmerman (Swanger); and his siblings, Harold "Crum" Powell, Betty Huey, Donald Zimmerman, Ronald "Tuffy" Zimmerman, William Zimmerman, Larry Zimmerman and Ada Lynn.
He is survived by: his wife Maxine B. Zimmerman (Walters); his children, Barbara J. Rynard (Stanley), Leroy H. Zimmerman, Jr. (Jody), Laura A. Kempf (Kurt) and Michael L. (Jodie); and his brother Robert Zimmerman. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren, and five great great grandchildren.
